Toto editor thrills pupils of Kampala Junior Academy

KAMPALA - It was all excitement as Toto Magazine's editor, Jovita Ajuna appeared before pupils, parents and teachers of Kampala Junior Academy -Najjanankumbi during the swearing in of new elected prefects.

The pupils could not hide their excitement as majority of them were seeing her physically for the first time.

Speaking to the pupils after the swearing in of prefects, aunt Jovita told the pupils that leadership comes from God and so, the elected prefects should not misuse their positions.

She urged prefects to learn to be patient and humble so that other students emulate them.

Jesse Ruzagira was elected head boy while Bernice Pora Mugaba was elected head girl.

Mugaba said she is planning to introduce physical exercises in school and balance between academic and physical activities.

She added that she will also encourage fellow pupils to play during their free time to help them exercise more.

The Chief Guest Claire Kaweesa told the new elects and other pupils that leadership is natured and therefore they should learn how to be good leaders. She encouraged the new prefects to be good servants and leaders.

She said that leaders should be able to serve others and look out for other people's interests. She added that a good leader is humble and kind to the people they lead and serve.

She appreciated the work done by the teachers for shaping the children adding that parents most of the time fail to groom their children.

The head teacher, Vincencia Amuge appealed to outgoing prefects to be advisers to the new ones basing on the experience they have acquired in leadership.

She commended the outgoing Time Keeper for keeping time. She advised the new prefects to balance studies and their duties.
