Kabaka receives refurbished Twekobe

Kabaka hailed the work done by his people to see that the Kingdom gets back its glory.

TWEKOBE PALACE
 
The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has received Twekobe palace fully refurbished as gift from the Buganda ahead of the 25th coronation ceremony.

Kabaka hailed the work done by his people to see that the Kingdom gets back its glory.

He made the remarks at Twekobe Palace that was destroyed in 1966 after the abolishment of Kingdoms in Uganda.

Kabaka Mutebi was coronated on 31 July 1993 at Naggalabi Budo in Wakiso district.

He said that after the revival of the kingdoms they requested government the return of the palace.He said government was able to listen though they took more time.

The function was attended by the Nnabagereka Slyvia Naginda, Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayinga, cabinet ministers and members of the royal family.

The chairman of the organising committee Godfrey Kirumira said that they found it defeating to refurbish the palace with furniture.

"With all the people behind me we expect to make this palace to be the best in the World. This is just the beginning of our work," Kirimira said.
