The first round of the senior pool league ended in disappointment for three of the Betway Senior Pool leagues table leaders.

Capital night, Skin Samona and Hot Pool all needed a win in order to go top in the Betway Senior Pool League and none of them did so.

Skin Samona played to a 10-10 draw against indigo, Capital Night also did the same against Scrap Buyers, while Hot Pool lost 11-9 to the Sinkers at home.

All three teams lost an opportunity to close the first round in style which set up the start of the second round quite nicely.

Samona and Indigo took two points for their effort, while Hot Pool collected only one point for the loss taking the latter to 36 points and the former to 37 points.

In the women's league Skin Samona played a solid match to defeat Indigo for an 8-4 bonus point win as they put pressure on table leaders CKI.

The ladies at Hot Pool continue to struggle with their form and their draw against Sinkers was not enough to mask the fact that the team was less by a player.

"As a team we have struggled a lot this season especially because we have not been full. We are supposed to be at least four yet we have fielded only three players," Sharon Mirembe said.

Going forward he Ntinda based team need to improve on their attendance if they want to win the title.
