DanceOff boot camp: It's a five-star treat

KAMPALA - It will be explosive this Saturday as 14 of the best Ugandan dance crews enter boot camp in a journey to find the finest.

The search for Uganda's best dance crew started on April 7, 2018 with auditions in Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale and Kampala where viewers and judges picked the 14.

This Saturday, they enter a house at a secret location in Kampala to compete for the top prize as well as embark on a journey to professional dancing.

Producer, Eric Lubwama of Kunta Productions, reveals a number of dance icons have been lined up to mentor the dance crews.

Over the course of 10 weeks, the 14 crews will take part in a series of tasks and challenges including professional dance and business acumen.

"Every day, every week, expect different episodes of the boot camp. This is going to be high energy performance," Lubwama disclosed.

Kunta Productions assistant producer Brian Kiviiri, also promised plenty of spins in the boot camp in the journey to find the best Ugandan dance crew.

The Content Manager Urban TV Suzan Kavuma-Ebiau says the crews will be thrown in the deep end of things to see how much they embrace their journey to professional dance.

Six crews will be evicted in the first two weeks, according to Vision Group's Marketing Manager Broadcast and Digital Media Kenneth Oduka.

Four underperforming crews will be put up for eviction each Sunday and viewers will save only one.

Thereafter, two crews will be up for eviction each Sunday and viewers will save one until the best is selected.

The winner of this first season of "DanceOff" dubbed "The Genesis," will walk away with sh30m.The first and second runners-up will walk away with sh15m and sh5m respectively.

Also ten solo dancers continue their journey in the competition having been selected from a large group that auditioned. One will be dropped each week of the 10 weeks until the finest is picked by viewers ,to walk away with sh.1m.

Exciting for the viewers too will be the home challenge. You will have to record yourself dance and share the clip via WhatsApp to win weekly prices.

The Grand premier of the dance crews entering boot camp will be this Sunday 7:00pm-8:00pm.
