KIGALI - National Women football team (Crested Cranes) head coach, Faridah Bulega says her side will be exposed to different ways of play.

This is to ensure they are in proper shape for the  forthcoming CECAFA Women Challenge Cup that will be held in Rwanda from July 19-27.

"We want to expose the team to different styles and experiences especially speed and tactics," stated Bulega.

Crested Cranes, who will play Kenya in their opening game on July 19 have been boosted with the arrival of Aturo Ruth and Yudaya Nakayenze.

The dual had earlier been left out of the squad since they were supposed to have trial stints outside Africa.

The Challenge Cup will be played in a league format to determine the eventual champion.

The third edition of the CECAFA Women Championship was supposed to be hosted in May this year but the organisers decided to be postponed for better preparations.

Hosts Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia confirmed their participation for the 2018 tourney.

Tanzania remain the defending champions of the event that was last held in Uganda in 2016 at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

They beat rivals Kenya 2-1 to win the championship while Crested Cranes finished fourth.
