KAMPALA - Save the best for last. Sunday evening's last fixture of the day saw Betway Power's fairytale beginning to this season's National Basketball League coming to an unexpected end when they lost to a resilient Ndejje Angels 63-52 at YMCA.

Power came into the fixture off the back of a convincing 65-56 victory against their closest rivals, the KIU Titans and anyone could have thought that their tie against Ndejje would be an obvious victory.

Walter Obedi's side had other ideas and produced the same giant killing display that defeated Oilers 59-58 earlier in the month going into halftime with a 25-38 lead.

Power looked rejuvenated in the second half and took the third quarter 11-13 before only managing to hold their rivals 14-14 in the final quarter to ensure their first loss in 10 games.

Earlier in the day, Champions City Oilers moved level on points with log leaders, Power when they defeated Sharing Youth 63-68 thanks to Landry Ndikumana's match winning performance that saw him scoring a game high 23 points.

In the day's penultimate piece of action, Our Savior suffered a third straight loss when they fell 58-71 against UCU Canons.

As the first round is concluding, Betway Power and City Oilers have 19 points at the top of the table in first and second place respectively while KCCA Men sit at the foot of the log with 12 points.
