FRANCE - Soviet Russian poet and novelist, Boris Pasternak, is famously remembered for his quote, "Surprise is the greatest gift which life can grant us."

For Joseph Ddamulira, Abrarah Babirye, Douglas Mugerwa and Muza Kazungu that quote came to life when they were flown for an all-expense paid trip to watch the Le Mans race in Paris courtesy of Total Uganda that happened last weekend.

The 24-hour-race happened between, June 16-17. Ddamulira, a farmer from Entebbe, Babirye a spare parts dealer, Mugerwa and Kazungu (Business men) were the lucky winners among hundreds that took part in the Buy Verify Win campaign carried out by the fuel dealers.

It was the 86 time that the exhilarating race was happening.

This year's race saw Fernado Alonso winning. It was the first time for the Spaniard who is also a double F1 Champion to win the endurance race with his Toyota Team mates.

Total Uganda's Lubricants & Specialties Manager Hosea Nkojo, congratulated the winners for winning and enjoying a trip of a life time.

An elated Mugerwa said, "It's more than a dream come true, I'm a big fan of rallying, so getting to watch cars race for 24 hours free of charge is something that I will never forget in my life."

For Babirye, "Personally I'm a fan of motocross but this is the best gift from Allah after Ramathan. I can't ask for more."
