Kotecha bt Oringa (6-4 6-7)

Uganda lost to hosts Kenya 6-4 6-7 on day one of the Davis Cup Africa Zone Group III Tennis Championships.

Kenya victory came courtesy of Sheil Kotecha who edged out Uganda's David Oringa today at Nairobi Club.

Uganda is placed in Group B with Hosts Kenya, Algeria, Nambia, Mozambique while Group A has Benin, Nigeria, Rwanda, Cameroon.

The one week championship that started will run till Saturday.

The team of Boris Aguma, David Oringa, Simon Ayella and Frank Tayebwa under the guidance of coach John Oduke and team manager Alvin Mboijana, arrived in Kenya for the tournament on Saturday.
