Rugby Cranes begin campaign for 2019 World Cup in Japan

The Rugby cranes make way for Charles Uhuru, Collins Kimbowa, Lawrence Ssebuliba, James Ijongat, Conrad Wanyama, Arthur Mukama and Joseph Tamale in the team to take on Namibia.

TOKYO - The Rugby Cranes begin their campaign to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan on Saturday away in Nambia.

 

Head Coach, John Duncan, has named one new face in black Pirates, Conrad Wanyama who will be making his debut for country defending Gold Cup champions, at Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek.

 

Six players from the Elgon Cup loss against Kenya in Kampala last Month will not be part of the team having been dropped.

 

 

 

The six are Pajob Edgar, Bwambale Nathan, Ivan Kirabo, Phillip Wokorach, Marvin Odong, Simon Olet and Ivan Magomu.

 

They make way for Charles Uhuru, Collins Kimbowa, Lawrence Ssebuliba, James Ijongat, Conrad Wanyama, Arthur Mukama and Joseph Tamale in the team to take on Namibia.

 

Uganda have been training in South Africa's Free State province.

 

The overall winner of the Gold Cup this year will automatically qualify for Rugby World Cup in Japan next year.

 

Uganda have met with Namibia four times, lost three and won just once.
