The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has allocated funds to be used for the acquisition of the consultancy services described below.

The Entity now invites eligible consultants to submit sealed expressions of interest for consultancy services for the development of an addendum to the Environmental and Social Impact assessment for the Karuma (600mw) HPP Project Reservoir Area.

In principal the specifi c objectives of the ESIA will be to:

i. Document baseline environmental and social settings in the project site and its environs;

ii. Carry out Environmental Analysis to identify and assess the potential environmental and social impacts, and make recommendations for their mitigation and monitoring;

iii. Carry out consultations with relevant stakeholders to obtain their views and suggestions regarding the environmental and social impacts of the proposed reservoir area acquisition, preimpoundment reservoir clearing and filling;

iv. Prepare an Environmental Impact Analysis (Report)/Environmental and social impact statement incorporating the full results of the environmental analysis;

Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they are eligible and possess the required qualifi cations to perform the services supported with relevant documentation.
