Kawempe beat Olila in the FUFA Women Elite League

Kawempe Muslim has won the FUFA Women's Elite League for a fourth consecutive season.

KAWEMPE - Kawempe Muslim's assistant captain, Tracy Akiror has hailed fellow players for putting up a stellar performance in the FUFA Women Elite League.
 
Akiror made the remarks after Kawempe Muslim beat Olila Women 1-0 to win the FUFA Women Elite League title for a fourth consecutive season over the weekend.
 
"I want my players and coaches for the movtiation they gave us that we can win the title.
 
"At one point, we had lost hope after being eliminated in the FUFA Women Cup but our coaches encouraged us that we can win the league title,"stated Akiror.
 
Akiror who scored Kawempe Muslim's only goal in the final was also voted the most valuable player (MVP) of the fourth edition of FUFA Women Elite League.
 
Apart from winning the title, Kawempe Muslim's  Juliet  Adeke  was voted the best goalkeeper while UCU Lady Cardinals skipper  Maureen Kinavudori was the top scorer after scoring 10 goals.
 
Ajax Queens won the fair play award after receiving the less cards in the entire season. Each of the awards will come with cash prize of sh1m.
 
Kawempe Muslim received a cheque sh12m for winning the title while Olila walked away with sh7m.
 
Gafford Ladies who came third after beating Kampala Queens 1-0 in the third place playoff game will get sh5m while their opponents received sh2m. Monica Namwasa  was on target for Gafford Ladies.
