UCA GIRLS SCHOOLS CRICKET WEEK

Semi finals (Wednesday)
Jinja SS v Masaka SS at Lugogo
Light SS v Gayaza at Kyambogo)

Final: 4pm at Lugogo

Masaka SS will seek revenge when they entertain defending champions Jinja SS in the semifinal of this year's UCA Girls Schools Cricket Week.

It is a repeat of last year's final, when Jinja beat Masaka by five wickets to be crowned champions.

Certainly, Masaka have so much to lose in today's encounter.

Nonetheless, Jinja continue to grow as the strongest side in the girls contest. They have had an impeccable buildup to the knockout stage.

This season, they remain the only unbeaten side in the twelve-team meet.

Habib Mugalula's girls topped group A with a remarkable 105 points.

Immaculate Nakisuyi remains a formidable force in the team setup. She is currently leading the batting charts on a total of 96 runs.

Wednesday's game will be more dramatic for the fact that Nakisuyi is facing her former school. Imagine an emotional game for the evergreen youngster!

She was crucial in the 85-run destruction of St Johns on Tuesday at Kyambogo, scoring a game-best half-century of 53 from 24 balls.

Conversely, Masaka SS have found some sort of a hero in Ann Nyapendi, who is the fourth-highest scoring batsman with 57 runs.

Meanwhile, dark horses Gayaza High School entertain Light SS in another big semifinal at Kyambogo.

Gayaza surprised many when they topped group B at the expense of favourites Masaka SS.

Joy Nakanjako will definitely hope to pepper in more runs for Gayaza. She has so far scored a total of 47.
