Angella Katatumba assailants charged with theft, assault

It is alleged that on April 1, 2018, the trio unlawfully caused grievous harm to Katatumba.

Rogers Choka Olubrwoth, a manager at Chicken to night in Kabalagala branch has been charged over stealing sh6.2m from singer Angella Katatumba.


Olubrwoth, 26, appeared before Makindye Chief Magistrate Elias Kakooza who read out the charges to him.

Prosecution led by Happiness Ayinebyona alleges that on April 1, 2018, Olubrwoth at Chicken to night in Kabalagala stole sh6.2m, the property of Katatumba.

Olubrwoth also faces two other counts of causing grievous harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm alongside Denis Okirot and John Kadu.

Okirot, 38, is a guard at Chicken to night while Kadu, 19, is a waiter.  They all pleaded not guilty to the offences and were remanded until next Friday when they will re-appear in court.

This was after Ayinebyona informed court that investigations in the matter are still underway.

It is alleged that also on April 1, 2018, the trio unlawfully caused grievous harm to Katatumba.

According to Katatumba, the trio stole her sh6.2m and allegedly severely and senselessly assaulted her.

The event happened when Katatumba and Kuzi Kz went to have a meal at the restaurant after recording a song.
