KABAROLE - The president of Uganda's football governing body FUFA has paid a courtesy visit to the King of Toro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru.
The youthful monarch hosted Moses Magogo at his Karuzika palace in Fort Portal, Kabarole district on Friday, where they discussed the ongoing FUFA drum tournament.
During their meeting, Magogo appreciated the king and his monarchy for supporting the football championship.
"As FUFA, we want to use the drum tournament to celebrate our origin. We want people, both footballers and their fans, to go back where they come from and promote local football," Magogo said.
He said this will make people love and enjoy football the more because it is involving culture.
On his part, Oyo commended FUFA for the mission they are on, saying it will also help the youth develop their football talent.
"A lot of youths have talent, but it has not been tapped. I hope that during this tournament, it will be exposed and harnessed," he said.
