The Black Pirates beat their hosts Betway Kobs to be crowned the Nile Special Premier Rugby League champions.
Kobs took a 5-0 lead with a try by Justin Kimono, but Pirates replied in the same way with two tries from inspirational captain Marvin Odongo and a penalty by Joel Anguyo to take 13-5 lead.
Kobs fought back, but all was in vain as Pirates put up a fantastic defensive display ending the first half 13-5.
In the second half, Pirates mounted more pressure, getting a try courtesy of Timothy Odongo and conversion by former Rugby Cranes flyhalf and lead kicker Joel Kimuli before Joel Anguyo added two Penalties to put Pirates in a comfortable 27-5 lead.
Kobs fought back and managed to get a try courtesy of team captain Brian Asaba and conversion by Conrad Mukwaya, but it was not enough to stop pirates from getting their second league win against Kobs.
