Crested Cranes regroup ahead of Women Cup of Nations qualifier

Uganda's national women football team (Crested Cranes) have regrouped at the FUFA Technical Centre to start preparing for their qualifier return leg against Kenya due this Sunday.

The crucial 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualification tie will be played at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugoggo in the capital Kampala.

The Crested Cranes went down 1-0 in the first leg on Wednesday in Machakos.

Before Wednesday's meeting, Kenya had won the previous two outings between both  sides.

They beat Uganda 4-0 each during the CECAFA Women Championship and a friendly match, both games played in 2016 .

The winner across the two legs will meet West African side Cameroon in the final round.

The eventual successful country will thus play among the finalists at the final tournament in Ghana. The tournament will run from November 17 to December 1 this year.

The competition will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. The top three teams will qualify.
