Uganda U-17 National team (The Cubs) will face neighbors Tanzania in their opening game of the CECAFA U-17 Championship that will be kick off on April 14 and end on April 29 in Burundi.
Uganda is placed in Group B with Zanzibar, Sudan and Tanzania.
The Cubs last took part in a competitive tournament in 2014 in the CAF U-17 Qualifiers. At the time, the team went down 4-1 on aggregate to Zambia in the final round of the qualifiers.
Uganda will have the chance to win the CECAFA U-17 Championship title they won in 2009 when it was held in Sudan.
Three stadiums - Urukundo Stadium of Ngozi, Umuco Stadium of Muyinga and Gitega Stadium - will host the competition.
The member countries that have confirmed participation for the competition include; Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia.
Group A has Burundi, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia.
