kKAMPALA - The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has wished his subjects and the people of Uganda a happy and peaceful Easter.

According to a statement from the office of the Kabaka, the king also congratulated Christians upon successfully completing the lent period.

"We have finalised this year's lent period and we congratulate those who went through it peacefully and joyfully. In the same way, we console those who have lost their loved ones during this period and we pray that their souls rest in eternal peace," the statement said.

The Kabaka noted that Christ's raising from the dead gives Christians hope that when they die, they will rest in eternity.

He, however, implored Christians to meditate about their lives and cement their belief in God and the relationship with fellow humans.
