Ugandan shot dead in South Africa

According to sources in Johannesburg, the duo attacked a home on Carr Street and there was an exchange of fire.

A Ugandan based in South Africa was shot dead in a suspected armed robbery in Fordsburg, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday.

Fred Mugisha a.k.a Baghdad Mugisha and his friends allegedly tried to rob at a home in the suburb.

According to sources from Johannesburg, the duo attacked a home on Carr Street and there was an exchange of fire.

Mugisha was reportedly shot dead, while his colleague escaped with bullet wounds. Sources say the Police in South Africa came to the scene of crime and took Mugisha's body to Hilbrow Hospital mortuary. Mugisha is reported to be hailing from Kagadi district.

Mugisha is said to have worked in Iraq as a security guard, hence the nickname Baghdad, before moving to South Africa, where has been living since 2012.
