Nelson Ocheger has presented a letter od credence to the Nigerian President accrediting him Ugandan High Commissioner in Nigeria.
During the ceremony in Nigeria recently, Ocheger conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Yoweri Museveni to President Muhammadu Buhari and wished him good health and prosperity.
Thanking his host for the warm welcome and hospitality, Ocheger informed his host of his commitment to scale up commercial and economic co-operation between the two countries that share a common vision of socio-economic transformation of their people.
The new Ugandan envoy to Nigeria also called for closer defense and security co-operation between the two countries in order to fight insurgencies and terrorism in their respective countries and regions.
Ocheger expressed sympathies to his host for the pain that Nigeria is going through, following the abduction of girls from Yobe State in the northern part of the country.
President Buhari welcomed Ocheger to Nigeria and assured him of his government's commitment to enable him effectively represent Uganda.
Buhari informed the new Uganda envoy that his government was ready to share experiences and work with the Government of Uganda to promote co-operation in the sectors of energy, capacity building, transport, defense and security.
