KAMPALA - Kira Road Police are investigating circumstances under which Phillip Tumwebaze, a groom, went missing, before being later found at a friend's home.
Saturday Vision reported that the wedding of the 28-year-old information technology expert, scheduled for next Saturday, had been put on hold after he went missing on Friday.
The family of Tumwebaze, a pioneer graduate of bioinformatics in Uganda and a resident of Kyanja in Kawempe Division, said he left home and headed for a trading centre, but did not return.
They reported the disappearance case 11/17/02/2018 of their son on February 17, 2018 at Kisoota Police Station under Kira Road Division.
Police then tracked him through one of his close friends. According to family members, wedding preparations are to be resumed.
Kira Road Division District Police Commander, Peace Nansaba, appealed to the public to always work with the police in such incidences of disappearance and in order to achieve successful results.
"Investigations are ongoing to ascertain more reasons that led to his disappearance," Nansaba said.
Tumwebaze is set to wed Mercy Twinomujuni, a recent graduate of Bachelor of Arts in French from Kyambogo University at Chrisco Fellowship Church Bugolobi in Kampala.
