Muhumuza wins Venus Open golf tournament

Youngsters Amon Bwambale and Chris Muhindo were the top performers in Group A.
Uganda Golf Club's Martha Babirye was the biggest achiever on the day collecting three awards at the 14th edition of the Venus Open at Tooro Club on Saturday.
The Uganda Sports Press Association lady golfer of the year 2017 shot 74 to beat the ladies to the top prize, in addition to bagging the nearest and longest drives at the nine-hole course.
Tooro Club's Adolf Muhumuza was also in top form beating the men's field with a two-under-par 69 to also claim the gross prize, beating second and third placed Dennis Asaba and Joseph Cwinya-ai, by two and three strokes respectively. Cwinya-ai, who beat Andrew Mugume to third place on count-back, was also a double winner taking the men's longest drive prize too.
Youngsters Amon Bwambale and Chris Muhindo were the top performers in Group A with 66 and 68nett respectively while Daniel Musinguzi and Philbert Bwambale were outstanding in Group B.
George Kansiime edged Julius Musinguzi by a stroke in Group C while Edrae Kagombe and Jill Pinda were the top performers in the ladies Group A.
Mary Matsiko and Mackline Nsenga also made podium finishes in the ladies Group B while Happy Robert outshone Lawrence Muhenda in the professionals' category.
