Family of missing cashier fear for her life

KAMPALA - The family of Susan Magara, a cashier at Bwendero Dairy Farm (BDF) in Hoima district, who went missing, are in fearing for her life.

The 28-year-old daughter of John Magara, the director of BDF, was last seen on Wednesday.

Magara told New Vision on Friday on phone that Susan, who has been working at procurement offices on Kabaka Anjagala Road in Kampala, was reportedly kidnapped by unknown people at her residence in Lungujja, a Kampala suburb between 8:30pm and 9:00pm local time.

Susan's car was later found abandoned about 200 metres from her home.

Magara said a case of a missing person was reported at the Police in Kampala and the search was underway. It is not clear under what circumstances Susan disappeared.

Susan's relative said she is introvert and had no grudge with anybody. The relative appealed to anybody with information about her to inform the Police.

Police have arrested two people, including Susan's boyfriend.

However, efforts to get a comment from the Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, were futile, as he did pick our calls to his known mobile number.

Cases of missing persons have become common in the country.

A few weeks ago, Case Clinic reported one of its staff members who had gone missing, only for his body to be found burnt beyond recognition a day later.

On January 12, the deputy head of department inspections and quality assurance in the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Fatuma Sendagire Nabiwemba, went missing.

On Thursday, the office of the DPP told the media that she had reunited with her family.
