Aziz Damani are on course of completing a season double. The moneyed club stormed the semifinals following a 61 runs victory against Charity Sunday at Kyambogo.
Damani, who are champions of this season's Jazz Safari National league recruited wisely ahead of the New Year. Fresh man Manoj Sai from India got off to a flying start in the Aziz Damani ranks scoring a brutal half century of 89 from 60 balls not out in another routine win for the team.
Riazat Shah was on form as well, scoring 30 from 20 balls as Ghulam Hunzai and Co set 175 in what was a free scoring innings.
Charity set out to chase with Jonathan Ssebanja reaching 35 from 50 not out. Young gun Steven Wabwose scored 28from 39 balls but in the end, they would have the board reading 111, short of an extra 62 runs to win the game.
"We remain extremely positive going into the semifinals. Charity posed a threat but we came up on top. Chasing a double is a realistic target for the team" said Brian Masaba, assistant captain of Aziz Damani
They will now face defending champions Challengers in what is a highly billed semifinal. It is important to note that Damani lost to the latter in the group stages of this T20 show piece.
At Lugogo, Roger Mukasa's exceptional performance (91 from 44 balls) did not save Tornado Bee from a 5 wickets loss to Kutchi Tigers.
Kutchi Tigers will now face KICC in the other semifinal as the tournament reaches the dying moments.
