RUKUNGIRI -The Police in Rukungiri are stranded with two unidentified bodies which they discovered over the weekend.

The regional criminal investigations officer, Moses Byabagye told the press Monday that one body of a woman was discovered at Kiborogota in Kebisoni sub-county.

He said this was after a boy who was grazing cows found the part of the body of a woman near Kiborogota river and tipped them.

The head was later discovered in the river.

Betty Katera, the Kiborogota LC1 chairperson, said the body of the woman had not yet been identified.

However, she said there were few drops of blood at scene, which means assailants could have just dumped the body there.

Another body of a man was also recovered near Birara bridge in Mitaano River that connects Rukungiri and Kanungu in Nyakagyeme sub-county, Rukungiri district.

The Police said they have so far recorded two cases of murder in the district in a week's time.

Byabagye said the bodies were in the mortuary at Rwakabengo Health Centre III in Rukungiri.

He appealed to residents whose relatives are missing to go and identify on the bodies in the mortuary.

Byabagye said investigators had started their work and hope to get the culprits and bring them to book.
