“We need change in Mityana, Buganda, all over the country and it is up to us all to bring change

The Bishop of Mityana diocese Rt Rev Dr Samuel Steven Kaziimba has emphasized the need for Ugandans to strengthen their faith, if they are to live better lives.

"We need change in Mityana, Buganda, all over the country and it is up to us all to bring change. We need to live as people who love each other, who do not kick each other whether in communities or parliament, but we must live as people who love one another and so bring change and peace," Bishop Kaziimba said.

He was addressing over two thousand youth, as he officially opened the 9th Annual youth diocesan conference, at the diocesan Cathedral in Namukozi, Mityana municipality.

The conference is being held under a theme of dedicating lives to Jesus, - ‘To decide to go with Jesus Christ our Friend'.

Describing the theme, the bishop said that the decision by Ugandans to dedicate their lives to God and strengthen their faith will also help them live better lives.

"Your decision will change the country, your family, and clan and you will become a different better person. So it is today that you must decide and have Jesus in your life, and then you will be saving yourself and the nation," he added.

Compared to the past youth conferences, the first day registered a big turn up and organizers were optimistic that the number will triple by end of the conference on Friday.

Bishop Kaziimba also hosted another preacher from Michigan in the United States of America, who is one of the preachers in the conference.

Rev Mike Vsn Kampen from Fellowship Church in Michigan advised the youth to get saved and have their lives dedicated to God.

He prayed for a few youth who had declared that they had got saved.
