How Muhumuza's stoves save up to 80% of fuel

In a financial depressed economy where saving any penny is crucial, here comes a solution on your daily saving on cooking expenditure.

Ronny Muhumuza, 26, a trained clinical officer is a resident of Kayanja along Kampala-Jinja Highway in Mukono District. Kayanja is a small town before Namagunga on your way to Jinja.

Muhumuza is a diploma graduate in clinical medicine from Mbale. This was not his passion.

His mother forced him to pursue a medical course. Upon completion of the course, he ventured into making charcoal stoves that are environmentally friendly and also reduce your cooking expenditure.

 



That sack of charcoal you have been using for a month, could now last for a couple of months and use that money for other things. The stove uses both charcoal and firewood.

What prompted him to make stoves?
"During my S.6 vacation, I developed an idea to make a charcoal stove which consumes less fuel and more durable. I also looked at the risks at home we encounter and then developed an idea to do something unique from other people," Muhumuza says.

The unique thing with his stoves is that it contains the heat.  Muhumuza stoves are slowly becoming a household name.

How convenient is his product
According Muhumuza his product is convenient for both small and large scale users like homes, schools, restaurants, and hotels. It is permanently fixed.

According to Muhumuza, his stoves save up to 80% of fuel.

"I give a 7-year guarantee for my products. They are very durable if well-handled.
He gets raw materials from Nairobi, Kenya.  The price vary from sh250, 000 to sh300, 0000.
