All golfers turned out in Rwanda traditional wear as per the dress code of the evening
Esther Okullo and Charles Mubiru were the last golfers standing as the 6th edition of the ladies section organized flags tournament ended at Kitante on Saturday.
Okullo was ‘buried' 200 yards to hole-No.1 while Mubiru's tombstone was a further 20 yards ahead to top the one-day tournament, consequently winning themselves an air ticket to Rwanda on top of a trophy and golf bag each.
In the ladies Group A Harriet Kitaka took the top accolade having finished her allotted strokes 14 meters to the pin of hole-No.18 while runner up Monica Ntege was 22 meters away. Martha Babirye finished third 220 yards away from the 18th green.
Petra Nalwoga (1 foot to the green), Bridget Nakamoga (159 yards to pin 18) and Aggie Konde (175 yards to the 18th green) were the ‘survivors' in Group B while Tuan Qiu Xiang, Njeri Kinyoho and Soon Yeon Hong were the last to be ‘buried' in the ladies Group C.
Geofrey Katoro (1 meter to pin 18), Sam Byagagaire (in hole no-18) and Peter Mungoma (1 foot to pin 18) were the last men standing in the Rwanda Air sponsored tournament that was presided over by Rwanda Ambassador to Uganda Frank Mugambagye and Rwanda Air Country Manager Ada Magezi.
The prize ceremony was colourful with all golfers turning out in Rwanda traditional wear as per the dress code of the evening as they enjoyed Kinyarwada traditional dances.
