The opposition Democratic Party has lashed out at the parliamentary commission for halting all activities to facilitate legislators to consult the electorate on the age limit Bill.

Parliament released sh29m to each MP for consultations although some legislators say the money has not been reflected on their accounts yet.

The party secretary general, Dr Gerald Siranda, said the consultations are not a priority and that Parliament could have waited to consult the population on the constitutional amendments until a constitutional review commission is put in place.

The party has instructed its members not to touch the money, saying it's a waste of taxpayers' money.
