Derick Mbowa’s 19th minute goal saw UCU take a slender advantage into the second leg

Despite beating Uganda Martyrs University 1-0 in the quarterfinal first leg, Uganda Christian University (UCU) head coach Jackson Nyiima says there is no time to rest for his side.

He said his side needs to start preparing for the return leg immediately because the target is to win the championship.

"Uganda Martyrs University is a very good side. The previous years they have been eliminating us on the away goals rule. When we go away it will be a different strategy since we want to qualify for the semi-finals this time.

But we need to be very careful. We are going start preparing for return leg immediately," stated Nyiima.

Derick Mbowa's 19th minute goal in Mukono saw UCU take a slender advantage into the second leg.

"This time round we want to find a way to utilize our chances. You find that in a game where we should have won by 3-0, we don't," said Nyiima.

Dates for the return leg will be announced by league organizers soon.

In Wednesday's quarterfinal, MUBS will host defending champions Kampala University in Nakawa.
