Lira Chairperson reshuffles councilors

The vocal Jefferson Obalim was replaced by Vincent Otaka and Santa Angela was replaced by Akello Medina Okeng as secretary for community based services.
Lira district chairperson Alex Oremo Alot on Thursday surprised councilors when he announced a reshuffle of his cabinet dropping three secretaries and replacing them with new ones during a council meeting.
In the reshuffle, Oremo dropped his longtime friend Anthony Ojuka, Secretary in charge of Production, marketing and natural resources and also leader of government business and replaced him with Raymond Odongo (NRM).

The reshuffle has been received with mixed feelings among the councilors, many who declined to comment on the matter publically.
However, female youth councilor Carol Gloria Aduku who is also the chairperson of community based services expressed gratitude to the chairperson for the reshuffle which paved way for into the district leadership.
Observers said Oremo dropped the three after two of them, Santa Angela and Anthony Ojuka openly opposed him during debate to annex three sub counties of Bar, Ngetta and Lira to Lira Municipality as the latter struggle for a city status.
