Zambia International Rally (October 20-22)

ARC standings

1. Manvir Baryan (Ken) 90pts

2. Leroy Gomes (Zmb) 65

3. Kleevan Gomesi (Zmb) 38

4. Christakis Fitidis (UG) 36

5. Giancarlo Davite (Rwa) 28

After testing his Mitsubishi Evo10 on Sunday and Monday, Uganda rally driver Christakis Fitidis is ready for any challenge in next week's Zambia International Rally in Chisamba town 72km from the capital Lusaka.

The rally will be the final round of the Africa Rally Championship where drivers will be out to score maximum points to seal top positions in the standings.

Fitidis, 65, is fourth on the ARC standings with 36 points, two behind Kleevan Gomes (38 pts) whom he believes can be ousted from a podium place.

"I cannot oust Leroy Gomesi from second position but what I believe is that his young brother Kleevan who is two points ahead of me can be ousted," Fitidis stated.

"The fight for third position is between me, Leroy, two points ahead of me and Davite Giancarlo who is three points behind me, but I'm ready and going for the podium," Fitidis explained.

If he finishes third, Fitidis will be the third Uganda rally driver to finish on the ARC podium after Charles Muhangi who won the ARC in 1999 and Jas Mangat who finished second in 2013 behind Jassy Singh.
