CCEDU boss, Commonwealth Secretariat discuss electoral reforms

The Coordinator, Citizens' Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU), Crispin Kaheru, has held a discussion with members of the Commonwealth Secretariat on Uganda's polls.

The meeting centered on the post 2016 general elections and the possibility of implementing electoral reforms recommended by the Supreme Court of Uganda and other stakeholders.

It was held at the Commonwealth Secretariat at Marlborough House, Pall Mall, St. James's, London on Tuesday.

"As Uganda undergoes a watershed moment in its governance process marked by incessant quests for political reforms, the need for a peaceful transition of leadership, we need the world than never before to stand with the people of Uganda; these interactions are important and timely," Kaheru said.

He also held various meetings with members of the House of Commons and UK-based charities.

Kaheru met House of Lords' Baroness Jennifer Elizabeth Randerson, with whom they discussed the current political and governance situation in Uganda.

Kaheru discussed with the head of program at the UK based Rory Peck Trust, Mary O'Shea the prospects of extending the programs to Uganda.
