On Tuesday night, unknown assailants hurled hand grenades that exploded at the homes of MPs Robert Kyagulanyi and Allan Ssewanyana

The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, has condemned the act of hurling grenade attacks on homes of three Opposition legislators and promised that investigations into the matter will pin down whoever is involved in the attacks.

"Anybody harming or killing the opponent because of opposing views should be condemned. The Government is not involved in assassinating political opponents. We condemn the attacks on the three MPs," Rugunda said.

The Prime Minister was on Wednesday addressing journalists in Kampala on a number of issues related to the events surrounding the proposed Constitutional amendment of Article 102 (b), which limits the age for presidential contenders at above 35 years and not beyond 75.

On Tuesday night, unknown assailants hurled hand grenades that exploded at the homes of MPs Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine (Kyadondo East) and Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West).

Last Thursday, a similar attack occurred at the home of Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante at Ssendawula Zone in Lungujja, Kampala and for all the three incidents, the Police recovered pieces of the exploded devices at the scenes for use in investigations.

Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, yesterday said that investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the recent grenade attacks.
