Kanyamunyu seeks bail for fourth time

Kanyamunyu is indicted for the murder of social worker Kenneth Akena in November last year along the Kampala-Jinja highway in Lugogo.

The head of the High Court's Criminal Division, Judge Wilson Kwesiga, is set to hear yet another bail application filed by Lugogo Forest Mall key murder suspect Mathew Kanyamunyu.

This is going to be the fourth time that High Court seats to hear Kanyamunyu's bail application with the first three attempts having been dismissed by judges Elizabeth Kabanda and Yasin Nyanzi.

In his fourth bail application, Kanyamunyu grounds his application on bail being his constitutional right and having spent months on remand minus a trial kicking off.

Kanyamunyu is indicted for the murder of social worker Kenneth Akena in November last year along the Kampala-Jinja highway in Lugogo.

He is jointly charged with his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and elder brother Joseph Kanyamunyu, who are out on bail.
