An argument between two longtime friends recently turned bloody after they brought in politics.

John Butanda, a supporter of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Faziri Bazibu (Opposition sympathizer) were discussing the proposed removal of the presidential age limit from the Constitution, when tempers flared.

Bazibu argued that the majority of Ugandans disapproved of the change, while Butanda argued that nothing can fail to go through in Parliament, where the NRM has majority MPs. The two have been friends for over three years. This went from zero to one hundred really fast when Bazibu called Butanda stupid.

Enraged, Butanda hit Bazibu's head with a metallic object, leaving him bleeding. Butanda fled the scene as bodaboda cyclists rushed there and raising an alarm. They claimed Butanda had murdered his friend.

Bazibu was rushed to Iganga Hospital with a deep cut on the head.

The district Police commander of Iganga, Nassibu Nditta, said if caught, Butanda will answer charges of attempted murder.
