Security has been beefed up at Ngoma Police Station in Nakaseke district following a weekend incident in which the station was raided by a mob that killed two suspects and injured a Police officer.

The Saturday evening raid followed a Thursday incident in which thugs killed a bodaboda rider in Ngoma town identified as Innocent Bayizi before fleeing with his motorcycle.

The Savannah regional Police spokesperson, Paul Kangavve, said that after the murder, the Police mounted a manhunt for the culprits, arresting two suspects who were locked up at Ngoma Police station.

He said that after learning about the arrest, a mob of mostly bodaboda operators raided Ngoma Police station where they overpowered armed Police officers before forcing their way into the cells, killing the two suspects and injuring a Police officer.
