ACCIDENT | MASAKA ROAD

Two people were yesterday confirmed dead after a Fuso Fighter crashed head-on into an Isuzu Forward at Kyengera, on the Kampala-Masaka highway.

The dead were the drivers of the ill-fated trucks. Their bodies were taken to the city mortuary at Mulago Hospital. Two adults survived the wreckage with minor injuries and were rushed to Nsambya Hospital.

Kampala traffic spokesperson, Charles Ssebambulidde, said the collision happened at about 6:30am, just outside Kampala in Kyengera township.

"Both drivers were overspeeding, something which you do not expect in a town centre," he said.

The dead were identified as Nshekanabo Mohamed, 36, from Buikwe district (driver of the Fuso truck). The other was Kizito Ona, 35, from Kamengo in Masaka.
