SOCIETY | LAND CONFLICTS

As cases of land wrangles continue to flood courts of law, the Iteso cultural institution's deputy Prime Minister, Vance Omome, has urged people to refer such cases to clan leaders.

He was addressing the clan leaders of "Ikarebuwok" in Acowa  sub-county, Amuria district on land conflict management today. Omome said courts are overwhelmed by land cases that end up not being settled, hence causing more conflicts.

"It's our duty as clan heads to help the society. We have watched on as people fight right and left. Let's wake up," he said.

He attributed the increasing land wrangles in Teso to the growing population.
