Red card ruined our game plan - Kajoba

His side had to dig deep to hold off their illustrious opponents

Bright Stars coach Fred Kajoba has decried the red card shown to midfielder Jimmy Kakooza in their 0-0 draw with Vipers on Tuesday.

Kakooza was shown his marching orders in the 13th minute after a two-footed lunge on Vipers' Erisa Ssekisambu.

Kajoba's side had to dig deep to hold off their illustrious opponents for long spells in the Uganda Premier League match played at Champions Stadium in Mwererwe.

"The red card denied us the opportunity to show our full potential in attack. We started with four attack minded players in the side" Kajoba said.

"Our new captain Nelson Senkatuka led the attacking line very well but he did a lot of work today following the red card to Kakooza. Senkatuka had to drop back on several occasions during the game," he added.

Vipers laid siege to the Bright Stars defence but all the attempts to break down their resilient defence were futile.

In the last nine appearances between both sides, Vipers have registered only three victories.
