Youth, women tipped on entrepreneurship

The women were given tips on how to grow mushrooms

Youth and women have been told to improve their household incomes by joining saving groups and starting small business ventures.

The call was made by the director of Edicas Enterprises Limited, Charles Andrew Edimu, while closing a five-day residential training for 65 participants who attended a residential training for youth and women in entrepreneurship in Luwero over the weekend.

Edimu said the training was organised to draw participants to small business ventures, which they can start with little capital and grow big without having to borrow.

Abel Ojoo, one of the facilitators advised the trainees to use their time productively, adding that God gave the same amount of time to people who succeed and those who fail, but the difference lies in how it is used.

The participants were trained in animal and bird rearing, liquid soap and candle making, mushroom growing, marketing and resource mobilisation for small and medium enterprises.

The training attracted participants from six districts of Luweero, Mityana, Wakiso, Mubende, Mpigi and Masaka.
