Basketball (women): USA 121 Uganda 34
Despite their combined effort against their stellar opponents, the Uganda University Basketball team succumbed to a 121-34 loss at the hands of USA on Monday at the ongoing World University Games in Taipei.
USA's Blair Watson and Tori Jankoska nailed a game high 21 and 16 points respectively to lead their team to victory against the inexperienced Ugandan side.
Nicholas Natuhereza's side lost 35-7, 33-7, 29-9 and 24-11 in the respective quarters.
Brenda Ekone, Ritah Imanishimwe, and Jamila Nansikombi contributed 8, 5 and 4 points respectively but it was not enough to save Uganda from a thrashing.
