With a well-balanced side at his disposal, Francis Othieno goes out to attempt at winning a first major title ever since  he became head coach of the team.

"I can report that the team is ready to go and no doubt the girls are ready to leave a mark on the regional tournament. I'm also pleased with the players selected as they have been outstanding in their previous engagements" said Francis Othieno, the head coach National Women's team during the flag off ceremony Monday at Lugogo.

The team partly encompasses on form players who were major standouts in the recently concluded Mehta Premier League.  Captain Kevin Awino who emergesd best wicket keeper will lead a strong cast of experienced cricketers against Kenya and Rwanda in the three team meet that is set to run at the Sir Ali Sports Ground in Nairobi.

"I have a lot of faith in the team. The boys have been playing together for a while and the coordination is evident. We can only hope to disrupt Kenya" Tumusiime said .the two team contest will run at the Rift Valley Sports Ground.
