2 Vacancies: One Technical advisor on private sector promoti on in Kassala and one Technical advisor on private sector promoti on in Gedaref

The advisor is reporti ng to the manager of a new project for vocati onal training and food security in Kassala and Gedaref. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ is implementi ng a new project in Kassala and Gedaref.

The project aims at improving the livelihoods of the local populati on and refugees alike in two areas of interventi on:

Background

Civil Peace Service (CPS) of GIZ is an independent German programme within the fi eld of internati onal cooperati on, with the objecti ve of "reducing or preventi ng violence, fostering understanding and contributi ng towards sustainable and just peace in cooperati on with local partners."

In 2015 CPS Uganda started its programme ‘Support for the Parti cipatory Transformati on of Land Conflicts in Northeastern Uganda' in the two sub-regions of Karamoja and Teso. Based on a Multi -Stakeholder-Process in each sub-region, a total of 13 Interest Groups (IGs) formed with the aim to share experti se, bett er understand land issues and jointly work on the non-violent preventi on or transformati on of land confl icts.

The programme is implemented following a parti cipatory and process-oriented approach, involving a broad array of stakeholders to be able to prevent or constructi vely engage in the transformati on of land confl icts.

The Programme Advisor will join a dynamic team in Karamoja and Teso to support the implementati on of this programme, drawing on their expertise, and knowledge about cross-cutti ng regional and national dynamics. Duty stati on of this positi on is Moroto.
