Fitidis ready for Kabalega rally

Christakis Fitidis and Rauf Adam and Yassin Nasser said that the Oryx Rally was competitive and challenging enough to prepare them for the Kabalega rally

Ugandan rally drivers, who competed in the Oryx Tanzania Rally in Bagamoyo over the weekend, believe that they have had enough preparation for the UMOSPOC Kabalega rally due August 18-20 in Hoima.

Christakis Fitidis and Rauf Adam and Yassin Nasser said that the Oryx Rally was competitive and challenging enough to prepare them for the Kabalega rally that is the second last even on the National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar.

Fitidis and Rauf finished fifth and sixth overall respectively while Yassin dropped out after his funbelt broke in an event won by Kenya's Manvir Baryan in Skoda R5.

"It was a good competitive event in which we have learnt lessons and in Hoima, I am ready to push for a podium," Rauf stated.

Fitidis,65, leads the National Rally Championship (NRC) with 315 points, 65 ahead of second placed Ronald Ssebuguzi.

Fitidis navigated by Eric Nzamwita in a Mitsubishi Evo 10 also in third place in the Africa Rally Championship standings with thirty Six points, 17 behind second placed Leroy Gomes (53) and 29 points behind leader Manvir (65pts).
