They blame the over dependence on government to lack of money

The chairperson production committee in Acowa Sub County, Amuria district has cautioned the youth against over relying on government for farming inputs.

Simon Peter Tajar while deliberating on youth engagement in farming noted that many of them now over depend on government for seeds like maize and cassava among others instead of borrowing or buying.

Tajar said this has affected youths in crop productivity since government doesn't deliver farm inputs promptly in time of need, something that compromises timely farming.

"The youth should not wait for government help without investing their efforts in attaining farm inputs individually, government support should be a supplementary offer" Tajar said.

Speaking to New Vision, Richard Okwi and other youth in Acowa blamed over dependence on government to lack of money to buy farm inputs.

They appealed to government to avail agricultural inputs to youth groups in time to break over reliance on government.
