Malaria burden drops in Kampala, Wakiso - minister

The state minister for primary health care Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu has confirmed that the malaria disease burden in Kampala and Wakiso has reduced to 1%.
According to Moriku, the prevalence rate for both districts was previously standing at 19%, placing them among the areas with the highest burden.
Northern Uganda districts have among the highest malaria burden in the country.
Moriku explained that the malaria disease burden reduction in Kampala and Wakiso in on the pre-elimination stage.
She emphasized the use of mosquito nets as a key strategy to prevent malaria.
