Joan Baguma, 38,  a mother of five, residing in Makindye, a Kampala suburb was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor which is not only a threat to her life, but has also led to the loss of her sight.

This is because the tumor has pressed the nerves responsible for her sight.

But the good news is her condition can be surgically corrected to save her life, and restore her sight if she gets the financial assistance.

A total of $10,000(about sh36.5m) is needed to rush her to India for surgery which is scheduled for July 2, 2017.

Her husband, Fred Baguma said the family members, relatives and friends have so far raised $3,000(sh10m) of the required sh36.5m.

The family members are financially stretched, and that is why they are appealing to the public to support them in meeting Baguma's treatment expenses so as to give her a chance to live and raise her children, with the youngest being only four years.

According to a medical summary report from Mulago hospital, the results from a Brain CT scan done revealed features of a huge brain tumor and this has exposed the patient to constant headaches and bilateral loss of sight.

Well-wishers can deposit money on her bank account number, 6005443871, Barclays Bank of Uganda, account name: Joan Baguma, or Mobile Money: Sam Rwemirinzi +256 777 207184
