Speaking during the function, the Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries for East Africa, Fr Leonard Olobo, encouraged more schools to participate in the annual competitions, to attain spiritual revival and renewal.
Earlier during mass, Emmanuel Cardinal Dr Wamala asked the students and all Christians to have unwavering faith in the power of prayer. "We are all in need of prayer mentally, socially and psychologically. Let us not resort to witchcraft when we get problems or challenges in life. Let us pray through the intercession of Mary and our saints. God will not turn a deaf ear to our cries if we seek his help through prayer," Wamala said.
