When a legendary artiste the scale of PJ Powers Thandeka hits the plane from South Africa all the way down here, for a show, you can bet your bottom shilling it is going to be a big thing.
Revellers at the concert
And so it was last night at the Jabulani Charity Concert at The Kampala Serena Hotel, Victoria Hall, which was filled with recognisable faces including, the speaker of parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, who was the guest of honour.
The show kicked off in full force with an award winning dancing group, Rocky's Troupe firing up attendees, but that was only to warm them up for nicer things to come.
It was Flavia Tumusiime, charming as ever, who took the job to unveil the next performers, Radio and Weasel. Here, the party was getting into full swing.
Ladies resigned their heels to dance while others worked up their throats by singing along the dynamic duo. The Gudlyfe boys performed only their chart topping songs from the past; Bread and Butter, Magnetic, Breath Away, to name a few.
The house turned more and more heated when the lady of the night, PJ, joined the boys to perform Home Africa a song they recently did together.
Still, that was just the beginning of a big party, the prime moment for everyone came when PJ performed, Jabulani, the world's favorite. Not anyone remained seated. Not anyone.

There is something about PJ—at 57 years of age, she is still girly. Her voice is sharp, and strong, like a little girl's. Her bones are fit; she kicked them in the air through her performance, as if to send a message, "I still got it. I am a girl"

The show was all about the girl child. It was intended to fund-raise toward the growth of The Girl Initiative Uganda, a local nonprofit organisation which educates and caters for girls.
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga graced the event
The show was actually expensive going for 100k (ordinary)and sh5m a table, but numbers delved deep into their pockets and it showed, humans are blessed with big hearts.
A big thing it was, which of course was unsurprising.
